We offer accurate monthly search volume data, which can be enabled within your settings.
The data displayed will be the exact monthly searches you receive per month for the keyword.
What does MS mean in the report? What does MS stand for? What does MS mean?
MS stands for Monthly Searches in the SerpBook Reports. We gather this data directly from the Google Keyword Planner. Please note that MS takes ideally about an hour to show up for popular regions (.ie US region) if you've just added keywords in.
If after an hour and your monthly searches field is still not populated, please observe its movement for another 24 hours, otherwise, please reach out to us so we can investigate further.
We track the number of searches based on your Google region. It is region dependent, which means you will receive specific values matching the region you are tracking (for example, Canada for Google.ca, Australia for Google.com.au).
We also report back accurate values, rather than the ranges that Google recently implemented.
Are you seeing an issue with accuracy, or "0"?
You can do a quick verification within the Google Keyword Planner (https://adwords.google.com/aw/keywordplanner/ideas/new) to verify the data we are seeing.
For Google.com - you can select "All Locations" as your search query, unless you have "Show USA" results within your settings enabled.
Dec 1, 2017: A recent Google Adwords Keyword update has caused them to stop reporting data for MS for certain keywords. This primarily affects niches in pharmaceuticals, violence, and more non-conventional niches.
Here is one odd example - the keyword "Karate Helmet" is returning search volume:
However, the keyword "boxing head gear" appears to be triggering a violent keyword and therefore, no results are provided. In this case we would return a "0" for the results.
